SKHSM – The Finale!

jking | July 22, 2010

This Tuesday, more than six months of SKHSM will come to an end. We’ve had a great run, from UCB to LA and back to Brooklyn, but now it’s time to take a break while we cook up an even better version. Join us next week for a blow-out celebration!

On Tuesday, July 27th, starting at 7:30PM, “Stephen King High School: The Musical” will perform at the EndTimes Atomic Cafe in The Ace of Clubs, NYC. (Nine Great Jones Street, between Broadway and Lafayette, under Acme Bar and Grill).

The Atomic Cafe is a post-apocalyptic showcase of comedy, music, and new work. This month, Jamie King hosts:

  • 7:30PM – Music by Neil and Sky!
  • 8:00PM – Comedy by Jason Saenz, Jessie Geller, and Matt Wayne!
  • 9:00PM – The End Times Guignol!
  • 9:15PM – Stephen King High School: The Musical!
  • 10:00PM – Music by Sababba Rocks Your Face Off!

That’s all until the fall! Check back here for the upcoming SKHSM Webseries, and info on future expansions of the show coming to a theatre near you! Until then, keep the windows rolled up on your evil car, watch out for rapping clowns, and above all, don’t get too close to that evil living laundry machine. He’s a killer.

Attention Princes of Maine (and to a lesser extent, Kings of New England). The live footage of “Stephen King High School: The Musical” at the Los Angeles Comedy Festival is now available right here for your viewing pleasure. This is the first time that the ENTIRE show has been posted online, captured on four camera’s at the swanky Acme Comedy Theatre in West Hollywood and appearing here in four parts. For those of you who haven’t seen it live, this is the best version available…so far. Although I did hear a crazy rumor about a SKHSM web series debuting this fall. Stay tuned…

SKHSM in the BoCoCa Arts Festival!

jking | May 25, 2010

After leaving LA in smoking ruins, “Stephen King High School: The Musical” returns like mighty Oedipus to make sweet, sweet love to its motherland: Brooklyn.

SKHSM will play four shows in our favorite borough as part of the BoCoCa Arts Festival:

Sat 6/19 @ 7pm
Sun 6/20 @ 7pm
Wed 6/23 @ 7:50pm
Sun 6/27 @ 6pm

BoCoCa is a great festival that challenges local artists to showcase their work in unconventional venues. Always down for some crazy shit, SKHSM will be staging this expanded production at Diety Supperclub:

368 Atlantic Avenue, between Hoyt and Bond.

This ornate venue is part bar, part restaurant, and part tree. Must be seen to be believed. Come find out how the hell we’re going to make this work!

Don’t miss one of your last chances to see SKHSM in NYC!

reviews-header

"...the stunning and clever Stephen King's High School Musical...the wit of the writing was on the same level as that of the Urinetown folks. The show also featured some great performers...that had the audience nearly falling out of their seats with laughter."
